Every Sunday, people love to stroll along the shady esplanade or through the narrow lanes and squares of the charming town centre, attracted by the gourmet restaurants and the quaint little shops.
The marking feature of Remich's main church is its 12th century tower built on the remains of a Roman watchtower. The St. Nicolas-Gate was part of a medieval fortification that was torn down in 1867.
Remich owes part of its excellent reputation to its outstanding tourist infrastructure: in summer, a tourist train, called "De Jhangeli", takes its passengers through the streets of Remich, while the children enjoy themselves on the miniature train. Friends of sports activities can choose between a covered skating rink, a miniature golf course, a fitness trail or an open-air swimming pool. Those who prefer to take it easier will doubtlessly enjoy a cruise on board MS Marie-Astrid, a luxurious riverboat.
Wine-cellars and private wine growers are happy to welcome you for a taste of their excellent wines and sparkling wines.
