A didactic trail, informing about the life and the work in the vineyards, links the three charming villages of Wellenstein, Bech-Kleinmacher and Schwebsingen.
Schwebsingen hosts the only sailing harbour on the Moselle and after stepping ashore, the yachtsmen will discover an open air museum with a Gallo-Roman sarcophagus, wine presses dating back to the 12th century, a trough and a lovely fountain dedicated to children and grapes.
Visitors interested in the folkloric and wine-growing heritage of the region should not miss the museum "A Possen" in Bech-Kleinmacher. Set up in a 17th century home, it gives an excellent impression of life in the country and work in the vineyards before the industrial revolution.
One of Wellenstein's major attractions is the warm colour of the old wine-growers' homes, some of which are for rent.
A visit of these three romantic villages would however be incomplete without a visit of the wine-cellars of the Domaines de Vinsmoselle in Wellenstein.
